*Winona needs a new wardrobe*

Hello fellow bloggers. As many of you can see, the title of my blog is "Hollywood Trailer Park." Of course that is not meant to sound like people who live in trailer parks are bad or cheap people. It is rather meant to cater to the stereotype of people who live in trailer parks. A lot of people think of deadbeats or non-law abiding people when they hear the words 'trailer park.' My title is meant to show that the rich and famous celebrities might have it all, yet they seem to get themselves into trouble. Now that we have that cleared up, we shall spin the wheel and see which lucky celeb we have in store for us first. The winner is......Winona Ryder, a blast from the past. It is random I know, but I just think her attempt at being bad ass is so comical.

Wynona has been an actress since the mid 80's. Most of us recognize her for being in Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands, and Little Women. You would think that a girl who has acted in over 25 films, and is not starving for cash, would not have any problems staying out of trouble, right? WRONG! Not only did she committ a crime, but it was for shoplifting! Obviously this woman is not hurting for cash. In 2001, Wynona was caught on surveillance camera's shoplifting over $5,000 worth of merchandise from Saks Fifth Avenue. Now I don't understand how such a talented woman could get herself into a mess like this. I mean she had to have known that a higher end store like Saks would have pretty good security.

The video of her stuffing clothes into her jacket and bags just make me wonder why she thought she could get away with something like that. What makes a person feel like they have the right to steal? Especially if it is a well known celebrity? What makes them feel like it is worth the risk? Something like that could ruin a career. Maybe she thought that she wasn't in the lime light enough, so she wanted a scandal. If that is the case, then why not just pull a Janet Jackson and have a "wardrobe malfunction?" At least then she could blame it on the clothing!

After her trial began, Winona was also accused of taking prescriptions drugs. The only problem was that she did not have a prescription for them. So could she have been on these drugs when she decided to steal thousands of dollars worth of merchandise? If that is the case, then I suppose it would be a better excuse for making such an idiot mistake. She ended up being convicted of two felonies, vandalism and grand theft. She was put on probation for three years, had to pay over $10,000 in fines, 480 hours of community service, and had to attend counseling. The two felonies were reduced to misdemeanors after her community service was complete.

I believe that her punishment was sufficient enough. I'm sure the embarrassment was enough for her, but sometimes Celebrities don't get the punishment they deserve because of their status. However, there are also times when a Celebrity is given a more harsh punishment because they are famous. I guess the case just depends on the Judge. I'm sure if you put two judges in a courtroom and they both listened to the same case, that they might each choose a different punishment. In Winona's case, she got what she deserved, and I'm sure she has learned her lesson. Hopefully now she at least has prescriptions for those 'drugs!'
